With saturated ground and a line of showers moving through the state, the National Weather Service issued a Flash Flood Watch until Tuesday Evening, for Caldwell, Carroll, Chariton, Linn, and Livingston counties in the KCHI listing area.
The weather service says most people will see light showers, but areas of heavy rain will create run-off and flash flooding. This could include low-lying areas and even streets or intersections.
If you see standing or flowing water, turn around and find another route. If you are in an area that is prone to flash flooding you should consider finding higher ground, especially if it is raining near your location.
