Police Report Includes Two Significant Incidents

The Chillicothe Police Department made a couple of arrests late Monday or early Tuesday, where the person either ran from the officer or attacked the officer.

Monday

8:36 PM, Officers served an arrest warrant on a 36-year-old man in the 400 block of Calhoun Street.  As officers began the warrant service, the man fled into the home to evade arrest.  Officers located the man hiding on the roof.  The man decided it was in his best interest to submit to the arrest.  He was then taken into custody on the State of Missouri Parole Warrant, and transferred to the Daviess DeKalb Regional Jail, where he was held with no bond allowed.

Tuesday

2:24 AM, Officers responded to a report of an intruder inside a home in the 300 block of Mansur Street.  Upon arrival, Officers determined the 31-year-old man had assaulted the resident while inside the home.  They located the person who then assaulted an officer by punching the officer in the face with a closed fist.  Officers report the person, who was obviously under the influence of illicit drugs, was immediately taken into custody by officers, with the assistance of the resident.  That person was transported to the police department and placed in a safety restraint system, for the safety of the person and officers, and was checked out by medical staff before being transferred to the Daviess DeKalb Regional Jail.   A Livingston County Warrant was issued for the individual for Felony Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer.  The warrant carried a $10,000.00 cash-only bond which the subject was unable to post.

Chief Jon Maples says they also found the person had been released from prison on Parole less than a month before committing this act.  The Chief says the Officer that was struck will make a full recovery.
