The Chillicothe Police Department report for Tuesday includes an incident with a stolen vehicle, a stolen firearm, shots fired, a vehicle recovered, and arrests.
Tuesday, during the early morning hours, Officers started receiving reports of individuals causing damage to numerous vehicles in the area of Calhoun Street and Locust Street. Officers discovered several tires had been slashed or punctured on numerous vehicles. the investigation continues
A report was received of a stolen motor vehicle in the 1200 block of Webster and a firearm was stolen out of a vehicle in the 900 block of Cherry Street. During the Officer’s initial investigation, Officers heard gunfire in the 600 block of Calhoun and later discovered a firearm was used to attempt to gain access to a business without success.
Throughout the day, Officers conducted investigations, followed up on leads, conducted several interviews, and acquired video surveillance of the earlier crimes.
At around 4:45 PM, Officers located the stolen vehicle in a garage of an unoccupied home in the 900 block of Elm Street. Officers also identified 2 suspects observed in video surveillance and subsequently took a 17-year-old male and an 18-year-old male into custody.
The 17-year-old was transported to a juvenile detention facility and the 18-year-old was transported to the Daviess DeKalb Regional Jail pending the filing of formal charges. This investigation continues regarding possible additional suspects.

6:52 PM, Officer received a report of an animal complaint in the 1200 block of Webster Street.
7:58 PM, Officer responded to Washington Street and Second Street for a report of a single-vehicle non-injury accident. Officer reported the woman made an improper turn and struck a utility pole guide wire. The woman was arrested for operating a motor vehicle without a license. She was processed at the police department, cited, and released.
