The annual Tax Rate Hearing for the Chillicothe R-II School District will be held prior to the regular School Board meeting on August 17th. Superintendent Dan Wiebers says the rate presented to the school board will be $4.7053 per $100 valuation. That rate is down .0123 from last year.
The tax rate hearing will be at 5:45 pm on the 17th. This is a public hearing and the public is welcome to speak for or against the proposed tax rate. Following the public hearing, the school board will adjourn until the regular meeting at 6:00 pm. During that meeting, the board will make their decision on setting the tax rate for the year.
