Two serious injury accidents were reported in the area counties Monday.
In Linn county at about 2:50 pm, a single-vehicle accident happened when 25-year-old Kristina R Kunze of Kansas City was westbound on US 36 and crossed the median and the eastbound lane before striking a concrete bridge rail. Kunze was taken to Pershing Memorial Hospital. She was wearing a safety belt.
In Carroll County, a single-vehicle accident happened at about 3:20 am and Troopers report 31-year-old Matthew Whitlock of Unionville had serious injuries following the accident on US 65 near CR 220. Whitlock was southbound when he ran off the left side of the road, struck an embankment and a tree. He was taken to University Hospital in Columbia for treatment.
