The 45th annual Great Pershing Balloon Derby is Labor Day weekend in Brookfield. Richard Techau (T-Shaw) is one of the organizers of the event that begins on Friday, September 3rd, and runs through the weekend. Techau says this year they have an extra day of competition.
The US Women’s National Hot Air Balloon Championship will have flights at 7:15 am and 6:00 p. Also on Friday is the Night Flame
Saturday is a festival and parade downtown. He says a lot of the fun happened at their launch field, west of Brookfield.
There are also games, souvenirs and festival foods available on the site. Night glows are scheduled both Saturday and Sunday nights as weather permits.
