A Chula teen had serious injuries after they were struck by a vehicle while riding an ATV. State Troopers report the accident happened Thursday, about 7:45 pm, as the 17-year-old boy from Chula was eastbound on Route K, a mile west of Chula, and slowed to make a left turn. He used a hand signal to indicate the turn and while making the turn and was struck by another eastbound vehicle that was attempting to pass. That vehicle was driven by 26-year-old Taylor O’Dell of Chula.
The teen was ejected from the ATV and came to rest on the north side of the road. He was flown to Truman Medical Center in Kansas City for treatment of serious injuries. O’Dell was not injured.
