The Chillicothe Boys Soccer team went 3-0 and won the Moberly Tournament over the weekend.
They opened the tournament Friday with a 6-5 win over Mexico. Drake Cosgrove set a single game school record by scoring all six goals in the game, with Chace Corbin providing assists in the 15th, 16th, 55th and 56th minutes. The other two goals were by penalty kick in the 66th minute and a direct kick in the 68th minute.
On Saturday Chillicothe beat Moberly 4 to 1. Chace Corbin scored on a penalty kick in the 3rd minute. Moberly tied the game shortly after that, but Cosgrove and Corbin scored to lead 3-1 at half. Both scores were from Wyatt Brandgaard assists.
In the second half, Sam Reeter scored in the 71st minute off a Cosgrove assist.
Jaxon Albertson had 10 saves in the game.
Later Saturday morning, Chillicothe won the championship in a hard fought 2-1 win over Kirksville.
Kirksville lead 1-0 at halftime, but Chillicothe responded in the second half. Corbin tied the game in the 42nd minute off a Brandsgaard assist and Jacob Adams scored the game winning goal with his first varsity goal of his career in the 79th minute. Albertson had 8 saves.
In total, Chillicothe won three games in a 17-hour time frame.
