The Chillicothe Softball Team turned in another lopsided win. Lexington was the latest victim of Chillicothe’s bats and pitching with a 14-1 Lady Hornets win on the road.
Chillicothe scored in each of the five-inning game, with one in the first, three in the second, four runs in both the third and fourth innings and two in the fifth. Lexington scored their only run in the bottom of the fifth.
Chillicothe scored 14 runs off 13 hits. Mika Hibner had a double and two singles, Jolie Bonderer had three singles, Bre Pithan had a double and single, Adra Stretch had a triple, Dawsyn Lightner had a double and Sophia Luetticke, Halle Rucker, and Hadley Beemer had one single each.
Pithan had three RBI, Bonderer, Beemer, Rucker and Stretch all had two RBI with Hibner and Isabella FitzPatrick with one RBI each.
In the circle, Halle Rucker went four innings and Hadley Beemer pitched the fifth. The two allowed one run off two hits and four strike outs.
Coach Lee Rucker said he felt the Lady Hornets started a little slow, but the second time through the line up, they started to get things going.
The Junior Varsity game was cancelled due to weather.
