The Chillicothe Boys Soccer team downed St Joseph Benton on the road 5 to 2.
After a scoreless first half, Drake Cosgrove started the scoring in the 45th minute off an assist from Corbin. Four minutes later Corbin fed the ball to Sam Reeter, who sent it into the net for a 2-0 lead. Corbin had his third assist when he again sent the ball to Cosgrove, who scored in the 56th minute.
The roles were reversed when Corbin scored off a Cosgrove assist.
Benton scored in the 68th minute but Corbin scored a minute later, again off a Cosgrove assist. Benton finished the scoring in the 79th minute.
Jaxon Albertson had five saves in the game.
Coach Tim Cunningham called it another “workman like” effort by the Hornets. He said the team stayed patient and persistent with their attack throughout the match.
He said the Hornets defense was once again sound with their roles and responsibilities.
The Hornets JV also won 1 to 0 with Bradley Ferguson scoring the goal and Carson Steel with the shut out.
