A Truck Fire left a pick-up with heavy damage Tuesday afternoon. The Chillicothe Fire Department received the call at about 3:50 and arrived on the scene on South Street, adjacent to Gravesville Park, in four minutes to find a small pickup on fire in the engine and passenger compartment area.
The fire crew used about 200 gallons of water to put out the fire. The owner of the truck, Michael Weaver of Trenton, told the fire crew he noticed smoke coming from the engine area and the vents in to the cab. He pulled off the street and tried to open the hood when flames came out at him.
There were no injuries. The fire crew was on the scene for 17 minutes.
