The Chillicothe Soccer team extended their winning streak with a 3-2 win at Hannibal thanks to a penalty kick shoot out.
Chillicothe scored on a Chace Corbin goal in the 26th minute off a Ben Cueni Smith assist, Corbin again in the 56th minute off a Drake Cosgrove assist. Hannibal scored in the 24th and 69th minutes to tie the score.
After two scoreless 10-minute overtimes it went to a penalty kick shoot out.
Hannibal made their first kick, Corbin made one for Chillicothe. Hannibal missed wide left, Nate King made one for Chillicothe, Hannibal missed to the right, and Cosgrove made his for Chillicothe. Hannibal made their next shot, Wyatt Brandsgaard missed for Chillicothe and Hannibal missed with the save by Jaxon Albertson for the win.
Coach Tim Cunningham called it “an incredible performance against a very talented Hannibal team”. He said the Hornets were “challenged both physically and mentally throughout the match and rose to the occasion, playing at a very high level.”
