The FCC announced a third round of funding to connect additional students and library patrons with tools for online learning and communicating with teachers in the ongoing work to close the Homework Gap.
Acting Chairwoman Jessica Rosenworcel says they are providing resources to schools and libraries across the country. She says “The Emergency Connectivity Fund is the single largest effort to bring connectivity and devices to students, helping to close the Homework Gap and providing critical services to library patrons. Together with the Emergency Broadband Benefit Program, the Commission is investing more than $10 billion to support success in the digital age, no matter who you are or where you live.”
One school district and one library received funding in the third round. They include Daviess County Library in Gallatin – awarded $480; and Trenton R-IX School District – awarded $16,225. Both awards are for services. That could include hotspot connectivity
