The Thanksgiving meal will cost a bit more this year. Economists with the American Farm Bureau Federation say we could see about a 5% increase in the cost of the meal. Generally, food prices in the US are up about 3.7%, with the driving factors being labor shortages, transportation cost increases, and supply chain issues
Last year, a meal for 10 had cost about $47. You can add about 5% to that figure this year, bringing the same meal to about $49.35. The increases start with the producers seeing an increase in their cost, including feed, fuel, and more.
