The new Jerry Litton Stadium will get a new turf field next summer. The Chillicothe R-II School Board approved the bid from Mid-America Sports Construction, an affiliate of AstroTurf, to replace the turf and respray the field. Superintendent Dr Dan Wiebers says the bid was $736,623.
The new turf field will have a 10-year warranty and the company representative told the board the fields are generally lasting 12-14 years.
The current field was installed in August of 2012, so it will be just shy of 10 years old when replaced.
