A Fire west of Crowder State Park in Grundy County destroyed a home. The Grundy County Rural Fire Department was called to 71 NW 52nd Street at about 7:35 am on a report of a house fire and heavy smoke. The fire department arrived to find the east half of the house fully engulfed in flames and made an exterior attack on the fire due to the advanced stage of the blaze.
No one was home at the time of the fire
Firefighters were on the scene for about 2 ½ hours and the cause of the fire is undetermined.
