The Chillicothe Hornets Boys Basketball Team picked up their first win of the season in convincing fashion in a 60 to 43 win over Kansas City Hogan Prep Charter school in the Savannah Tournament 7th place game.
Chillicothe scored the first two baskets in the game and led the rest of the game.
The Hornets were led by 6′ 5″ Sophomore James Mathew with double-double, scoring 19 points and grabbing 11 rebounds.
Wyatt Brandsgaard had 12 points, Griff Bonderer with 9, Jackson Trout with 8, Landon Winder with 5, Chace Corbin with 4 and Alijah Hibner with 3. Griff Bonderer dished out 9 assists for the Hornets.
Next up for Chillicothe boys basketball is the home opener on Tuesday against Lexington. The Junior Varsity is at 6:00 pm with Varsity boys at 7:30 pm. KCHI’s pregame show begins at 7:10 Tuesday on KCHI.
