The Chillicothe Hornets needed late game heroics to edge Lexington 48 to 47 Tuesday Night. Griff Bonderer was responsible for all 14 points in the fourth quarter, including two treys and a deuce to end the game on a 7-0 run for the win.
The Hornets had a couple of important in-bounds passes in the final 11 seconds to secure the win.
Hornets Coach Tim Cool said his team had some great stops late in the game.
Bonderer finished with 19 points, Wyatt Brandsgaard with 16, six for Jackson Trout, five for Landon Winder, two for Alijah Hibner and playing time for James Mathew, Chace Corbin, Isaiah Sprong and Milo Costner.
Chillicothe improves to 2-2 and Lexington falls to 4-2.
The Chillicothe JV won 35-16, led by Hibner with 9, Costner and Ricky Wilson each with 8, Ashton Baker with four and two each for Carson Samm, Quenten Midgyett and Aerion Hudson.
