Despite having a longer season, hunters early this month harvested fewer deer in the antlerless portion of the firearms deer season. Hunters took 14,896 deer this season, compared to 15,630 last year. This year the season was expanded from three days to nine days.
This season Callaway was the top county with 467 deer harvested followed by Pike with 376 and Morgan with 354. Livingston County had 127 antlerless deer harvested this season.
Archery deer season is running now through January 15th and the Alternative methods portion is running now through January 4th.
