The Chillicothe Lady Hornets jumped to a big first-quarter lead and hung on to beat Milan 64 to 54 in the NCMC Holiday Hoops event.
Chillicothe led 23 to 10 after the first quarter but Milan battled back to outscore Chillicothe in the second and third quarters.
Milan was led by Cady Pauley with 34 points. Chillicothe Coach Darren Smith said Pauley caused problems for the Lady Hornets.
Chillicothe was led by Essie Hicks with 20points, Jolie Bonderer with 19, Jessica Reeter with 16, Lucy Reeter with 6, Cali Burkhardt with 3, and playing time for Clara Leamer, Kayanna Cranmer, and Ellie Barnett.
Chillicothe improves to 8 and 1 while Milan falls to 7 and 2. Chillicothe is off until a girl’s boys doubleheader in January against Lawson.
