The bridge crossing US 36 at Hamilton was struck by a high-profile vehicle Wednesday. The Highway 13 bridge was already damaged in a crash that happened last September. Damages from Wednesday’s crash have caused MoDOT to reduce traffic on the bridge to a single lane.
MoDOT reported inspectors are evaluating the damage and have narrowed the bridge to one lane with a 12-foot width restriction. Temporary traffic signals are in place to guide motorists. Left-hand turns onto Route 13 from U.S. Route 36 will not be allowed in any direction, due to the signals, turning and width restrictions, and one-lane roadway. These restrictions will remain in place until further notice.
