Two Chillicothe residents were injured in an accident on Highway 152 in Platte County Thursday morning. State Troopers report 51-year-old Gary W Karnes and 61-year-old Buddy R Ewing, both of Chillicothe, were taken to Liberty Hospital for treatment of minor injuries following the accident at about 10:20 am. According to the report, the two were passengers in a vehicle driven by 40-year-old Jeffery Gillespie of Chillicothe, when they were eastbound and were struck from behind by a Platte City resident, 48-year-old Kelly Rottinghaus.
Gillespie was not injured. Rottinghaus had minor injuries and was also taken to Liberty Hospital.
A Marshal resident had minor injuries in a single-vehicle accident in Chariton county Thursday evening. State Troopers report 40-year-old Dustin Y Cross of Marshal was eastbound on Route E near Rothville when he ran off the road and struck a bridge rail. His vehicle became airborne, landing off the roadway. Cross was taken to Pershing Memorial Hospital for treatment.
