State Troopers responded to several accidents around the region over the weekend. For the local area:
Saturday at about 5:20 am in Lafayette County, a single-vehicle accident on Highway 23 left a Carrollton woman with minor injuries. 54-year-old Melissa A Ashley of Carrollton was southbound and ran off the right side of the road and struck a fence. She was treated at Carroll County Memorial Hospital.
A two-vehicle accident on Highway 6 near Weatherby left two injured at about 11:44 am Saturday. According to the report, vehicles driven by 21-year-old Brooke M Sanuw of Bethany and 65-year-old Faron R Keeter of Pattonsburg were westbound and Ketter slowed to make a right turn and was struck from behind by the Sanuw vehicle. Sanuw had moderate injures and was treated at Cameron Regional Medical Center. A passenger in the Keeter vehicle had minor injures and refused treatment at the scene.
