Trenton Firefighters responded to a house fire at 215 Crowder Saturday evening. The call came in at about 5:15 pm and fire crews arrived to find heavy smoke and fire coming from the lower level windows. The report states there was severe smoke and fire damage to the first floor. Moderate damage to the majority of the second floor from heat and smoke, and severe damage to a bedroom on the second floor where a hole was cut with a chainsaw due to fire extension.
No one was home at the time of the fire. The cause of the fire is unknown and under investigation by the state fire marshall.
The fire was out in 2 hours and some fire crew stayed on the scene for 5 1.2 hours.
