A two-vehicle accident in Linn County Sunday afternoon left a passenger with serious injuries. State Troopers report 18-year-old Jonathan D Hollon of Brookfield was taken to Hedrick Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries following the accident at about 2:10 pm on US 36 at Laclede. According to the report, Hollon was a passenger in a vehicle driven by 27-year-old Joshua D Scearce of Linneus. Scearce was westbound on US 36 and attempted to make a right turn at high speed and struck a southbound vehicle that was at the intersection.
Scearce and the other driver were not injured.
Troopers did arrest Scearce for alleged DWI resulting in an accident with serious physical injury and careless and imprudent driving. He was taken to the Linn County Jail.
