The Kirksville Tigers used size and strength to beat the Chillicothe Hornets 51 to 28. The Hornets led 6 to 5 after the first quarter before Kirksville turned up the heat to lead 22 to 11 at the half. The Tigers also had a big fourth quarter, out scoring the Hornets 18 to 6 in the final frame.
Chillicothe coach Tim Cool said it has been a tough two days of basketball.
Griff Bonderer led Chillicothe with 22 of the team’s 28 points. Landon Winder, Milo Costner and James Mathew each had two points.
Chillicothe heads to Marshall Friday night for a varsity doubleheader.
