The Chillicothe Lady Hornets held off a Fourth Quarter Irish run, to hang on and beat Lafayette in the Class 4 District 16 basketball tournament at St Joseph Benton High School,
Chillicothe led by 14 points after three quarters, but Lafayette whittled it down to just three points in the fourth before the Lady Hornets hit some free throws to pull away.

After Chillicothe scored the first points in the game, they led the rest of the contest. Essie Hicks led the team with 23 points. Jolie Bonderer had 16, Jessica Reeter with 4, Lucy Reeter with 3, Bre Pithan, Kayanna Cranmer and Delanie Kieffer each had two points and playing time for Ellie Barnett, Clara Leamer and Cali Burkhardt.
Chillicothe faces Benton for the District championship on Thursday, March 3rd at 6:00 pm at St Joseph Benton High School.
