A report of a tractor fire summoned the Grundy County Rural Fire District Tuesday afternoon. The call came in at about 1:45 pm for a fire at 731 NW 25th Street in Trenton. The fire department arrived to find the tractor fully involved in flames. Water and foam were used to put out the fire that left the tractor a total loss.
The cause of the fire is believed to be slag from a cutting torch falling on the tractor.
The fire crews were on the scene for about 45 minutes.
