Two teams that the Chillicothe Lady Hornets beat in the Savannah Tournament at the beginning of the Girls Basketball season are both in the state tournament semi-finals.
In Class 5, the Smithville Lady Warriors beat Raytown South 57 to 38 Saturday to advance to the semifinals against West Plains.
In Class 4, the Benton Lady Cardinals beat conference foe St Pius X 48 to 35 and advanced to the semifinals. Next up will be Jefferson City Helias. Benton beat Chillicothe girls in the conference game and for the district championship.
On the boys side Richmond, which beat Chillicothe in the Lawson Tournament, had their season end at the hands of a 20-point loss to Pembroke Hill in the quarterfinals.
