The Demolition of 1016 Cherry Street is awarded to Red Rock for a total of $7,000. City Clerk Roze Frampton told the council the city does not own this property.
Two bids were received for the project with a wide difference in cost. Perkins Dozing for $17,500 and Red Rock for $7,000 ($8,000 if asbestos is found).
Perkins says they planned to demo the second story by hand due to the condition of the building and the proximity to fences and property lines. Red Rock was not concerned and planned to demo using machines.
Due to the price difference, the City Council chose to award the contract to Red Rock.
