Missouri’s Spring Turkey Season is almost here. The season begins April 9th, with the two-day Youth Spring Turkey Hunting for youth that are ages 6-15. The youth may harvest one male turkey or a turkey with a visible beard. They must, of course, have the appropriate permits.
The Regular Spring Turkey Season is from April 18th to May 8th. The limit is two male turkeys or turkeys with a visible beard. Only one of those may be harvested in the first week of the season. No more than one bird may be harvested in a single day.
Hunting methods allowed by the Missouri Department of Conservation for the Spring Turkey Hunting season include:
- Shotguns with shot not larger than No. 4
- Longbows, recurve bows, or compound bows. Hand-held string-releasing devices, illuminated sights, scopes, and quickpoint sights are allowed.
- Crossbows
- Atlatls
If you were born after January 1st, 1967, you will need a hunter-education certificate.
