More than 81 million 2021 tax returns have been received by the IRS and nearly 58 million refunds have been made, totaling $189 billion. Michael Devine from the IRS says 1.5 million Missouri resident have already e-filed their returns.
The deadline for filing your Federal and state return is normally April 15th, by Devine says you get a few extra days this year, until the 18th.
If you feel you can not complete the filing by the deadline, he says you can file for an extension.
Devine says if the tax payment is too large to pay, there is an option.
