Chillicothe Municipal Utilities will have a new garbage truck very soon. The City Council approved the purchase of a 2023 Freightliner truck with a 20 cubic yard packer at a cost of $128,650 after trade-in. CMU Refuse Director Troy Figg says it is about $3,400 more than the lowest bid, which was an International.
Other suppliers told CMU the trucks are as much as 265 days for delivery. The truck that was approved, from Elliot Equipment, could be delivered in a week and a half.
