Boys golf hosted 15 teams at the Chillicothe Golf Invitational for 18 holes at Green Hills Golf Course on Thursday morning.
Chillicothe’s squad had a great showing from James Mathew who finished with the team’s best score at 11 over. Mathew shot 2 over on the front nine then 9 over on the back.
The Hornets were also powered by Jackson Trout who had an 87 shooting after going 4 over on the front and 11 over on the back.
Tyler Stephens finished the home event in 96 strokes, Andrew Hecker in 98 and Kyle Young had a 109 to round out the varsity five.
The best score of the day went to Putnam County’s Jaden Wyant who entered the clubhouse even with 36 on the front and back.
As a team, Chillicothe finished tied for fourth with 364 strokes. Maryville was the tournament champion with 329.
