On Monday, boys golf wrapped up their regular season by competing in the Midland Empire Conference Tournament at St. Joseph Country Club.
In all, 39 golfers for 8 teams took to the links in search of All-MEC honors.
Chillicothe had five golfers compete including Andrew Hecker, who finished with a 109, Kyle Young who came in at 102, Tyler Stephens who completed the course in 94, and Jackson Trout who needed 93 strokes to finish.
James Mathew was an All-MEC honoree after placing 9th in the tournament with a stroke count of 89.
The Hornets took 4th in the tournament behind Bishop LeBlond, Maryville and Lafayette with a team score of 378.
Coach James Wheeler was excited to share that the team had placed ahead of Savannah for the first time this season, and in front of Cameron which had only happened one other time this season.
Bishop LeBlond was the tournament champ after they had four golfers place in the top four of the competition. The Eagles’ Sam Schoeberl was the only golfer under par on the day, he finished -4.
Chillicothe now heads to the Class 3, District 4 tournament at Hodge Park Golf Course in Kansas City on May 9.
