A public hearing for the purchase of the new radio and communication package for the Police and fire departments was held prior to the Chillicothe city council Meeting Monday. The City planned to spend more than $244,000 from the Capitol Improvement Fund. City Administrator Darin Chappell says when you spend more than $50,000 from the fund a hearing is required.
Chappell says this expense had already been approved by the council, they just needed the public hearing. There were no comments from the public either in favor or against the expenditure.
