The Strand Hotel building, at Washington and Clay Streets, could soon belong to the City of Chillicothe. At Monday’s council meeting, the Council heard from City Attorney Robert Cowherd about the property that the current owner wants to “give” to the city.
That loan balance is about $218,000.
The city sent out requests for proposals to manage the property and has selected Zabka Properties for that role.
If the City agrees to accept the Strand, they will need to pay the remainder of the loan. City Administrator Roze Frampton says there are also some repairs that need to be addressed.
Frampton says the council is expecting to take action on the property at their May 31st meeting.
