Boys tennis was in Independence at the Santa Fe Tennis Courts for the team sectional match versus Warrensburg on Monday.
In doubles play, the Hornets were swept by the Tigers including a 4-8 loss for Emmett Young and Gabe Peterson.
The Tigers were the first to 5 matches when Josh Adams fell to Sam Renfrow 1-6, 1-6.
Warrensburg downed Chillcothe 5-3 in sectionals and advanced to the state quarter final match later in the day.
For the Hornets, Emmett Young wraps up his tennis career after compiling a strong 17-10 doubles record and qualifying for the individual sectional tournament.
The other Hornets senior, Chase Corbin, will compete in the state singles tournament starting this Friday May 20 in Springfield.
