The Livingston County Sheriff’s Department report for early May includes several investigations and arrests.
May 9th, deputies investigated an unattended death at a home in Avalon. The preliminary investigation suggests the man passed from natural causes.
May 10th, deputies assisted Children’s Division on an investigation at a residence in Utica. That case has since been completed and the report was sent to the prosecuting attorney for his consideration.
May 11th, Deputies were called to a ball field in Dawn on a report of property damage. Someone had driven on the ball field trying to cut ruts.
May 13th, deputies began an investigation of theft of a UTV from a location south of Chillicothe. A friend of the victim happened to locate the UTV at a garage sale in Kansas a short time later. The UTV was recovered for the owner. The investigation is continuing with assistance from an out-of-state agency.
Other Arrests:
May 6th, 42-year-old Kelli Lynn Summers of Utica was arrested on a Livingston County warrant for alleged Probation Violation for Possession of a Controlled Substance. Bond set at $20,000. She was transferred to Daviess Dekalb Regional Jail.
May 6th, deputies arrested 47-year-old Anthony James Brown of Chillicothe on a Livingston County warrant for alleged Attempted Statutory Rape. Bond is set at $20,000.
May 14th, deputies made a vehicle stop on US 65 at Calhoun Street, on a person known to not have a driver’s license and an active Brookfield Municipal warrant. 47-year-old Brandi Opal Peniston of Chillicothe was arrested for alleged Operating a Motor Vehicle without a Valid Driver’s License-3rd offense, Failure to Register Motor Vehicle Annually, and on the Brookfield warrant for alleged failure to appear on a traffic citation. She posted the bond and was released.
May 18th, deputies arrested 41-year-old Katie Vanhorn of Chillicothe, on a Livingston County warrant for alleged Failure to Appear in Court on a traffic violation. She posted bond and was released.
