If you could go to a law enforcement academy part-time while still working and having time for family, would you consider a career in law enforcement? The Livingston County Sheriff’s Department and the Missouri Sheriff’s Association are asking that question. Sheriff Steve Cox says if there is interest, it could happen.
He says they would need at least 15 people interested in attending. The academy costs around $5,000 plus any expenses for ammunition and clothing.
If there is enough interest the academy could start in January and graduate in November of 2023.
Cox asks those interested to contact himself or Chief Deputy Michael Claypole at scox@livcoso.org or mclaypole@livcoso.org. you can also call the sheriff’s office at 660-646-0515.
