The Chillicothe Police Department’s report for the past few days includes more than 300 calls from Friday – Monday.
Friday
09:24 PM Officers were dispatched to a reported physical domestic disturbance in the 1100 block of 1st Street. Officers were unable to find any evidence of injuries or that an assault occurred. Both parties involved denied that the altercation had become physical.
Saturday,
01:32 PM Officers located a suspect in a harassment case in the 400 block of 3rd Street. The suspect was arrested and transported to DDRJ. Formal charges are being filed.
02:25 PM Officers were dispatched to a business in the 1000 block of Washington for reports of panhandlers harassing people for money. Officers found two suspects, both of which had active warrants for their arrest. A woman was extradited to Linn Co. where she was released to Deputies. A man was arrested on active warrants and held at the Daviess Dekalb Regional Jail to await extradition.
Sunday,
12:40 PM Officers took a property damage report at Danner Park in which a bathroom had been vandalized. Investigation to continue.
02:10 PM Officers took a stealing report in the 10 block of 2nd Street from a storage unit. Investigation to continue.
06:20 PM Officers responded to the 200 block of 10th Street for a person violating a protection order. Officers determined that the order had not yet been served. The respondent was served the protection order and was then escorted out of the area.
Monday
07:44 a.m., Officers responded to Simpson Park, for a report of property damage. Officers discovered a vast amount of damage to the interior of both the male and female bathrooms. Urinals were busted, Stall dividers were broken, and the bathrooms were severally damaged.
08:43 a.m., Probation and Parole contacted Officers in reference to a parolee having a warrant. Parolee posted bond and was released.
09:52 a.m., Officers were contacted by a business in the 1200 block of Washington Street about a stolen rental vehicle. During the investigation, the officers were informed of a suspect. Monday night, Officers located the vehicle and made contact with the driver. The business owner chose not to pursue charges.
05:02 p.m, Officers spoke to a citizen about a theft that occurred at their house. Officers responded to the 1700 blk of Hickory and determined a suspect. The suspect was contacted and officers solved the case of theft.
5:34 p.m., Officers attempted to stop a delivery van for a lane violation. The vehicle failed to stop and fled from officers. Officers were unable to stop the vehicle and it continued southbound on 65 highway. Carroll County Sheriff’s Office stopped the vehicle and detained the driver. Officers responded and took the man into custody. He was processed, cited and released. This has led to a joint investigation with the United States Parcels Service.
