The decision on accepting the Strand Hotel Apartments was tabled at Tuesday’s City Council meeting. After more than 30 minutes of discussion on ordinances to accept the gift of the Strant Hotel Apartments and awarding the Development of the property the Zabka Properties was tabled.
City Attorney Robert Cowherd explained the gift of the property.
Cowherd says if the city accepts the gift, they have a development agreement ready with Zabka Properties.
He says after three years the property would be deeded to Zabka.
There were comments from the public on the ordinances, including by Mr Walters.
Following comments and discussion, 4th ward Councilwoman Pam Jarding made the motion to table the ordinances until the June 13th meeting in hopes of having the full council present. That motion was approved
