The Chillicothe Police Department has two new Sargents. The Chillicothe City Council approved the promotion of officers Matthew McCurry and Preston Sanders to the rank of Sargent. Chillicothe Police Chief Jon Maples says the process of selecting an officer for the position takes some time.
He says they also evaluate the candidates on their performance as an interim Sargent.
The council approved the promotions in Monday’s executive session on votes of 5/0.
