A program that will allow Chillicothe R-II students to see a doctor or other medical professional through the computer at the school for minor medical conditions will begin this fall. Superintendent Dr Dan Wiebers says he has worked with Hedrick Medical Center to bring this program to the schools.
The Hospital is supplying the needed equipment and a nurse to work on-site with the doctor.
Wiebers says the parent would need to approve the telemedicine visit and could be included in the visit.
There is no cost to the school. Billing would be through the family’s insurance.
