Bridge rehabilitation work on US 24 in Carroll County was announced by MoDOT. The work includes seven bridges over two years.
Crews from Capital Paving and Construction, LLC, working with the Missouri Department of Transportation, will begin work on the first two bridges on Monday, Aug. 8:
US 24/Benton Street over US 65 in Carrollton
- Aug. 8 – mid-November
- One lane, each direction, will remain open throughout construction
US 24/65 over Moss Creek Drainage Ditch, approximately 4 miles south of Missouri Route 10
- Aug. 8 – early December
- The road will be narrowed to one lane only, with temporary traffic signals directing motorists through the work zone.
Crews will be working five days each week but work zones will remain in place around the clock. Some work may take place on Saturdays.
The remaining five bridges in the project will be completed in 2023 according to the tentative schedule below:
- US 24 northbound over BNSF Railroad just south of the US 65, Feb. 14 – May 19, 2023
- US 24 over the Norfolk Southern Railroad, Outer Road 24 and Missouri 10, Feb. 14 – May 23, 2023
- US 24 over BNSF Railroad just east of the US 65 interchange, March 1 – June 9, 2023
- US 24 southbound over BNSF Railroad just south of the US 65 interchange, March 1 – June 2, 2023
- US 24 over Little Wakenda Creek east of Carrollton, April 18 – July 1, 2023
