The Missouri Drivers License and State Issued ID will remain valid for entering federal facilities and boarding planes through the 1st of August 2019. While the Missouri ID’s are NOT Real-ID compliant, the state received an extension of their use from the US Department of Homeland Security. This will give them time as they work to satisfy requirements of the REAL ID Act and it’s regulations.
The state previously been granted a grace period into the new year. Missouri Department of Revenue had applied for the extension until October of next year.
In Early September, Representative Rusty Black said Missouri could not meet the January Deadline. He said they would not be ready to issue the Real ID compliant identification until March of 2019.
