The Chillicothe R-II School Board meeting took place on Tuesday evening. The meeting began with the introduction of all of the new teachers joining the district with new hires at 6 different schools in the district.
Next up on the agenda was approving the District Tax Rate for 2022. The rate for the 2022-23 school year is 4.7053%, and that is unchanged from a year ago.
One of the proposals later on in the meeting was to increase the hourly rate of pay for Adult Education Instructors by $2. This was approved.
The new Continuous School Improvement Plan was considered and approved by the board. The district’s new Mission Statement is “The Best District for the Best Students in the State”.
Principal Dan Nagel announced that the enrollment at Chillicothe High School for this upcoming year is 631 students. That is down about 20 students from a year ago. The incoming Freshman class has an enrollment of 144 students.
The first day of school for the Chillicothe R-II School District is Tuesday, August 23rd.
