Busy Weekend For Chillicothe Police Department

The weekend police report for the Chillicothe Police Department includes 267 calls for service from Friday to Sunday.

Friday

09:15 a.m., Officers responded to the 500 block of US 36 for a possible assault between a business owner and an employee. Upon arrival, Officers spoke with both parties. The employee was asked to leave and not return.

09:37 a.m., Officers responded to Edgewood Cemetery for a man sleeping in the cemetery. He was asked to leave.

11:16 a.m., Officers responded to a report of a two-vehicle accident in the 500 block of Washington Street. No injuries were reported and one vehicle was towed due to damages.

12:47 p.m., Officers responded to US 36 for a vehicle that was driving erratically. The vehicle was stopped and the driver did not have a driver’s license. The driver was cited and advised not to drive.

1:50 p.m., Officers were dispatched to a stolen moped/scooter, in the 100 block of W. Bus. 36.  The investigation is ongoing.

2:08 p.m., Officers responded to the 100 block of Locust St for power tools that were stolen out of a garage.

11:51 p.m., The Chillicothe Police Department and Livingston County Sheriff’s Office located and arrested a Livingston County Most Wanted. Officers in the 400 block of Locust St. took the 27-year-old man into custody without incident. He had a Livingston County Warrant for Resisting Arrest/Detention/Stop By fleeing – Creating a Substantial Risk of Serious Injury/Death to any person. No bond was allowed. He was taken to Caldwell County Detention Center.

 Saturday

9:30 a.m., Officers responded to the 900 block of Webster St for a disturbance. A man was detained and later arrested for peace disturbance, Assault, and resisting detention. He was taken to the Caldwell County Detention Center.

11:33 a.m., Officers responded to the 300 block of Jackson Street for a woman screaming from a window. While speaking with the woman, she produced an 11-inch knife she stated she would use for her protection. Officers were able to relieve her of the weapon and assisted her with leaving the home. She did not threaten anyone with the knife.

6:22 p.m., an Officer was conducting a traffic stop in the 200 block of Elm St. when a dog approached the Officer. The Officer reached his hand out to the dog when a 78-year-old man approached the Officer. The man threatened to shoot the Officer if the Officer touched the dog. The officers attempted to speak with the man when he retreated into a house. He was ordered to come back outside, and when he did, he was detained when he made an aggressive reach into his pocket. Officers took the male into custody for Assault 4th degree, interfering with a stop, and resisting arrest. He was released with citations.

 Sunday

1:25 a.m., Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for speeding at Washington and Polk. The driver, a 30-year-old man was found to be impaired.  He was arrested, processed, cited, and released.

2:31 a.m., Officers conducted a traffic stop on northbound highway 65 near Sioux Dr. During the stop, the driver, a 19-year-old woman was found to be impaired and in possession of a controlled substance. She was arrested, processed, cited, and released.

5:45 a.m., Officers assisted Livingston County Deputies after the Deputy was flagged down by a citizen. They were told the vehicle had been broken into. The investigation is continuing.

1:32 p.m., Officers were dispatched to a rollover motor vehicle accident on US 36 at the intersection of Mitchell Avenue. A vehicle traveling eastbound on US 36 left the roadway crossing into the median and westbound lane into the ditch causing the vehicle to roll before coming to a stop causing damage to an electrical box. The vehicle had two occupants; one was transported to Hedrick Medical Center by ambulance with minor injuries.

7:10 p.m., Officers responded to the 400 block of Polk St. for theft of license plates. Officers took a report and the investigation is continuing.

11:09 p.m., Officers conducted a check on a pedestrian walking near the intersection of 1st St. and Hickory St.  Officers identified the pedestrian as a 37-year-old man with an active Probation and Parole warrant with no bond allowed. He was arrested and a search revealed a small amount of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. Officers had also seen the man driving earlier. It was discovered he had a suspended driver’s license. He was taken to the Caldwell County Detention Center.
