A 71-year-old Linneus resident had serious injuries following a single-vehicle crash Monday morning. State Troopers report Carlos M Vega was southbound on Highway 5 near Laclede when he ran off the right side of the road and struck a utility pole and fence. He was flown to University Hospital in Columbia for treatment. He was wearing a safety belt.
