Two single-vehicle crashes in the area counties left the drivers injured Friday.
At about 5:20 am in Caldwell County, 27-year-old Alex Parkhurst of Chillicothe had minor injuries in a crash on US 36, 3 miles east of Hamilton. State Troopers report Parkhurst was eastbound and swerved to avoid a dog in the road. He was not able to avoid the dog and skidded off the road and down an embankment, striking a box culvert. The vehicle overturned and came to rest on its side. Parkhurst was taken to Hedrick Medical Center in Chillicothe for treatment of minor injuries. He was wearing a safety belt.
At about 6:00 pm in Livingston County, Troopers report 31-year-old Ann Crighton of Jamesport had moderate injuries when she was westbound on Highway 190, three miles west of Chillicothe, and ran off the north side of the road, striking a guardrail, went down an embankment and crossed a driveway before hitting a tree. Crighton was taken to Hedrick Medical Center in Chillicothe for treatment. She was wearing a safety belt.
